Brat summer is here to stay — and not even the strongest of national disasters could wipe it out. Twisters castmates Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Anthony Ramos are some of the latest stars to join TikTok’s viral dance trend to Charli XCX’s “Apple.” They posted a video of their choreography, which earned a seal of approval from the alt-pop star herself. In a clip shared by Daisy Edgar-Jones on Instagram, she stands between her two costars as they perform the same purposefully rigid, staccato movements to Charli’s song. The dance has blown up on TikTok since the English singer-songwriter released her sixth studio album, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in June. Charli XCX has also previously joined in on the trend.

Edgar-Jones’ video features Charli’s lyrics: “I think the apple’s rotten right to the core/ From all the things passed down from all the apples coming before,” which can be heard in the background. The song continues, “I split the apple down symmetrical lines/ And what I find is kinda scary, makes me just wanna drive.” The Normal People actress captioned her post, “Caught the lads up on Brat summer 🍏,” under which Glen Powell humorously commented, “Hard to remember my life before this dance. Thank you, Daisy.” Charli XCX also made an appearance in the replies, leaving an ecstatic, “ABSOLUTELY !!”

The video comes just a few days ahead of Twisters’ July 17 theatrical release. The film, which stars Kiernan Shipka, David Corenswet, Katy M. O’Brian, and more, serves as a standalone sequel to 1996’s tornado-chasing epic Twister. Fans of both the film and the viral dance trend are eagerly anticipating its premiere, adding another layer of excitement to this summer’s entertainment landscape.
