Austin City Limits (ACL) will launch its 50th season on Saturday, Sept. 28, with an hour-long set from Grammy-winning artist Kacey Musgraves. The Texas native will perform 13 songs, including tracks from her latest album, Deeper Well, such as “Cardinal,” “Sway,” and “Too Good to Be True.” Musgraves will also revisit fan favorites like “Butterflies” from her 2018 album Golden Hour and her CMA Award-winning hit “Follow Your Arrow.”
Musgraves expressed her excitement about opening the landmark season, calling it an “honor” to perform on ACL’s iconic stage for the third time. Before ending her set with Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds,” she told the audience, “We’re gonna leave each other with good vibes.” Musgraves previously appeared on the show in 2014 and 2018, making her a familiar face to ACL fans.
Executive producer Terry Lickona praised Musgraves for embodying the spirit of ACL, noting her place among boundary-pushing artists like Willie Nelson. The 50th season of ACL premieres on PBS on Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT, with full episodes available for streaming on PBS’ website after the broadcast.
