“Never Let Go” is Jung Kook’s first solo music since the release of his 2023 debut album, ‘Golden.’
Jung Kook is back! The BTS superstar unveiled his latest single, “Never Let Go,” on Friday (June 7).
According to HYBE, the new track is dedicated to BTS’ beloved fans, affectionately called ARMY, and conveys “a sincere message to never let go of each other.” “Never Let Go” is Jung Kook’s first solo music since the release of his 2023 debut album, Golden, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
In 2023, Jung Kook broke a series of records thanks to his Latto collaboration, “Seven.” The song landed at No. 3 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart upon its release on July 21, marking the highest-charting debut by a solo Korean act. Additionally, “Seven” launched at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated July 29). The song marked the first leader on these lists for a BTS member as a soloist, as well as Latto’s first No. 1. On streaming platforms, “Seven” became the fastest song to reach one billion streams in Spotify history.
Jung Kook and his fellow BTS members Jin, RM, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, and V are currently serving in the South Korean military, which mandates an 18-month military enlistment for all able-bodied men by the time they turn 28. Several members have pursued solo projects during their service, and the full group plans to reconvene for band activities in 2025.
