Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage delivers an uplifting performance in the new song “One Heart Can (Change The World),” released on Friday, August 16. Produced by Elliott and penned by the Oscar-nominated legend Diane Warren, this bright Afrobeats anthem is the standout track from the soundtrack of Ozi: Voice of the Forest. The animated film tells the story of Ozi, an orangutan whose forest home is destroyed by deforestation. Forced to leave, Ozi embarks on an adventure, using social media to share her story with the world.

The song’s release coincides with the film’s debut in the United Kingdom and Europe, with a North American release planned by Ketchup Entertainment. One Heart (Can Change the World) brings the film to a climactic and hopeful conclusion. During a recent Los Angeles screening, Savage, Warren, and Elliott discussed the origins and intentions behind the song. Warren, an animal activist and vegan, emphasized the song’s universal message. “What it has to say is what everybody needs to pay attention to—what’s going on with our planet,” she explained.

Warren knew from the start that Savage was the perfect voice for the song. Reaching out to the singer via DM, she was thrilled when Savage accepted the offer. Savage was initially surprised by the message but was quickly drawn in by the song’s powerful lyrics and melody. “I loved the message behind it,” Savage shared, noting her concerns about the future of the planet for her nine-year-old son. For Warren, the song’s message is clear: no matter your age, One Heart (Can Change the World) is a call to action for everyone.
