Taylor Swift’s latest wax figure, unveiled by the Panoptikum Wax Museum in Hamburg, Germany, has sparked strong reactions from her fans, with many expressing disappointment online. Inspired by her 2019 iHeart Radio Music Awards look, the figure features a replica of Swift’s iconic purple bodysuit. However, the resemblance seems to end there, as fans took to social media to voice their displeasure, questioning the likeness and accuracy of the statue.
The wax figure, which attempts to recreate Swift’s signature hand-heart gesture, has also been criticized for its inaccuracy. Swift typically forms the heart with her fingers tucked in, but the statue’s fingers are noticeably fanned out, leading to further discontent among her fanbase. One fan summed up the sentiment on X, lamenting the “inaccurate hand heart” as a significant flaw in the figure’s design.
This isn’t the first time Swift has been immortalized in wax; Madame Tussauds has previously crafted several figures of the pop star, including versions inspired by her “Shake It Off” music video and her 2020 Academy of Country Music Awards look. However, this latest attempt has left many fans yearning for a more faithful representation of their favorite singer.
