Drake has stirred conversation once again, this time with a leaked track suggesting he’s moved on from rap beef, including his feud with Kendrick Lamar. The song, which surfaced on January 2, features high-energy beats and dismissive lines about rivalries, including the lyric: “Fuck a rap beef, I’m tryna get the party lit.”
The leak comes amid ongoing speculation about the Toronto rapper’s approach to his public spats, including his past feud with the Compton lyricist.
The leaked song also nods to Lil Durk and 21 Savage, adding intrigue for fans of the 6 God. One standout verse references Durk’s crew and a unique anecdote about “Marvin’s Room”:
“Durk’s boy told me ‘Marvin’s Room’ was his favorite song, he was drilling to it / A thousand n-ggas rapping murder shit and like 10 n-ggas that’ll really do it.”
Notably, 21 Savage appears on the track, with Drake acknowledging the rapper’s unwavering support during challenging times:
“Savage, you the only n-gga checking on me when we really in some shit, brother.”
While it remains unclear when Drake recorded the song or whether it was before or after his feud with Kendrick Lamar, the playful yet resilient tone suggests a focus on celebration rather than confrontation.
Though Drake seems ready to leave rap beef behind, he’s occasionally taken subtle shots at Kendrick. Following a lukewarm reception to “The Heart Part 6” and his rebuttal to Kendrick’s “Not Like Us,” Drake shifted his approach to sly remarks.
For instance, during a Christmas giveaway stream with Adin Ross, Drake mocked a lyric from Kendrick’s Euphoria track:
“When I see you stand by Sexyy Red, I believe you see two bad bitches.”
Kendrick has remained mostly quiet, but fans have speculated that his recent album, GNX, and Super Bowl announcement video contain veiled responses to Drake’s provocations.
Drake’s casual attitude toward rap feuds is reflected in his recent public appearances. During a November session with Canadian streamer xQc, Drake made a bold statement aimed at his critics:
“I’m here — mind, body and soul fully intact, in case you were wondering. You need facts to take me out; fairytales won’t do it.”
While the feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar has captivated fans, it seems that Drake is ready to pivot toward positivity, focusing on music that energizes rather than antagonizes.
The batch of leaked tracks also includes snippets of untitled collaborations between Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR, potentially for their anticipated joint album. With these leaks hinting at a mix of vibrant beats and introspective moments, fans are eagerly awaiting what’s next for Drake.
