The 2025 Grammy Awards was a historic night for Kendrick Lamar, but not everyone was celebrating. Drake’s father, Dennis Graham, had a blunt response to the Compton rapper’s massive wins for his hit diss track “Not Like Us.”

Following the awards show on Sunday night (February 2), Graham was approached by TikTok account @joy.of.everything and asked about his thoughts on Kendrick’s song winning Record of the Year. His response? Less than enthusiastic.

“I don’t care nothing about that shit,” he said. “That ain’t got nothing to do with me. All the best to him, man. I don’t do that bullshit.”

Drake, who is currently overseas preparing for his Australian tour, has yet to publicly address the matter himself. However, it was undoubtedly a tough night for Team Drake as “Not Like Us” swept all five categories it was nominated for, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video.

Kendrick Lamar made history with these wins, as “Not Like Us” became the first diss track to ever win a Grammy and the most decorated rap song in the award show’s history. Additionally, Kendrick became only the second rapper to win both Record of the Year and Song of the Year—two of the Grammys’ coveted “Big Four” categories—following Childish Gambino’s success with “This Is America.”

Adding another layer of shade, Kendrick rocked a denim jacket and matching jeans—a full Canadian tuxedo—during the ceremony, a subtle but pointed jab at Drake’s Canadian roots. Fans online quickly caught onto the sartorial dig, with one social media user writing: “Damn this shit is comedy. Kendrick’s trolling is ELITE.” Fellow rapper JPEGMAFIA also joined in, tweeting: “LMFAO Kendrick is funny AF. He accepted his award for the greatest diss song of all time. in a CANADIAN TUXEDO.”

Further twisting the knife, some of the biggest names in the industry—including Beyoncé and Taylor Swift—were seen dancing and rapping along to “Not Like Us” in the audience, much to the delight of Kendrick’s fans.

And the spotlight on Kendrick Lamar isn’t fading anytime soon. In just a week, he is set to make history again as the first rapper to headline the Super Bowl halftime show solo. The highly anticipated game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles will take place on Sunday (February 9) at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

With tensions still high between Drake and Kendrick, and Lamar continuing to dominate both music and cultural moments, the rap world is watching closely to see what comes next in this heavyweight battle.
