SZA has just added 28 new Gold and Platinum plaques to her collection. The RIAA honored her on February 8, just a day before she planned to release fresh music. These certifications cover her entire career, from her 2017 album CTRL to her 2022 hit SOS.

Major Album Milestones

SZA’s CTRL reached an impressive five times Platinum status, meaning it sold 5 million units in the U.S. Meanwhile, SOS, which was already triple Platinum in 2023, surged to six times Platinum. These achievements solidify her place among today’s top R&B artists.

Hit Singles Earn Platinum Recognition

Several of SZA’s most popular songs also received new RIAA certifications. Among them:

  • Low (2x Platinum)

  • Broken Clocks (6x Platinum)

  • I Hate U (4x Platinum)

  • Kill Bill (8x Platinum)

  • Love Galore featuring Travis Scott (8x Platinum)

  • Saturn (2x Platinum)

  • Snooze (8x Platinum)

SZA was the only artist to receive RIAA plaques on that day, aside from Justin Timberlake, whose collaboration with her on the Trolls World Tour soundtrack also went Platinum.

New Music Incoming

Beyond these awards, SZA is preparing to drop new songs for her SOS deluxe album, Lana. Her manager, Terrence “Punch” Henderson, confirmed the news on X, writing: “Additional deluxe joints coming Sunday. LANA.” This timing coincides with her guest appearance during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show.

Reports suggest that the new tracks will hit streaming platforms at 7 p.m. ET, shortly after the game kicks off. Fans have long awaited these additional songs, as the Lana rollout has been met with delays and uncertainty.

SZA Addresses Fan Backlash

SZA has had a complicated relationship with her fans during the wait for Lana. The singer previously hinted that more updates were coming but later pushed back against fan expectations. She took to social media, writing:

“I used to think sharing snippets, personal info + music tea would build connection but it actually just made ppl entitled ungrateful and disrespectful. It’s time to restore the boundary.”

She made it clear that there would be no more updates, telling fans to direct questions to her team. She even clapped back at a fan who questioned her delays, explaining that sample clearances and even wildfires had caused setbacks.

Despite the controversies, SZA continues to dominate the charts and win accolades. With new music and fresh RIAA certifications, she is proving once again why she remains at the top of the R&B game.
