Wiz Khalifa is gearing up to drop Kush & Orange Juice 2, the highly anticipated follow-up to his 2010 mixtape. According to reports, the project is set for release on April 18, 2025. While Wiz has yet to confirm the date himself, fans are already buzzing with excitement and speculation.
If the reported date holds true, Kush & Orange Juice 2 will arrive just four days after the original’s 15th anniversary. Released on April 14, 2010, the first installment became a cult classic, helping establish Wiz Khalifa as a dominant force in hip-hop.
The announcement comes via NFR Podcast, which shared what appeared to be the album’s cover art. However, it remains unconfirmed whether this will be the final design. Wiz Khalifa himself has yet to officially verify the release date on social media or in recent vlogs.
Wiz initially revealed that the album was completed back in March 2024. He took to social media to share the news, tweeting:
“Kush and OJ 2 is done and going into mixing. Thank you to everyone involved. Taylor Gang The World.”
Shortly after, he hinted at collaborations with longtime producer Cardo, who played a key role in the original mixtape’s success. Cardo confirmed his involvement, raising fans’ expectations for the project.
Additional contributors include legendary producers DJ Quik and Juicy J, along with Ty Dolla $ign and Problem (Jason Martin). This lineup promises a mix of classic and modern sounds that could make Kush & Orange Juice 2 another standout project.
Longtime fans have expressed both excitement and nervousness about the sequel. Some worry that revisiting such an iconic project carries risks.
“Don’t you dare ruin Kush and OJ’s legacy,” one fan wrote.
“High risk, high reward,” another agreed.
Despite the mixed reactions, industry figures like Cole Bennett, founder of Lyrical Lemonade, have voiced their excitement.
“Can’t wait. Kush & OJ is one of my favorite projects of all time,” Bennett shared.
The original Kush & Orange Juice was a defining moment in Wiz Khalifa’s career. Its laid-back, weed-friendly vibe helped him cultivate a massive fanbase.
The project also strengthened his industry relationships. Collaborations with Curren$y and Big K.R.I.T. on tracks like Glass House led to years of touring and new music together. On the mixtape’s 10th anniversary, K.R.I.T. reflected on its impact:
“We created a moment with that record… Wiz reached out like, ‘Yo, I wanna put this on Kush & Orange Juice,’ and that was my first introduction to a lot of his fan base.”
Now, 15 years later, Wiz Khalifa is ready to bring that energy back. Whether Kush & Orange Juice 2 can match the legacy of its predecessor remains to be seen, but fans won’t have to wait long to find out.
