Cardi B is making big promises about her next album. She believes it will be even better than her Grammy-winning debut album, Invasion of Privacy. That’s a bold claim, but the Bronx rapper seems sure about it.
In a recent chat with fans on X Spaces, Cardi B said, “I know Invasion of Privacy is one of the best albums ever, but I really think my second album is beating it.” She later joked that she better stop talking before her fans “jump” on her for getting them too excited.
Fans have been waiting a long time for her second full-length album. Cardi B’s debut came out in 2018 and was a huge hit. It gave us chart-topping songs like “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It,” and “Be Careful.” The album also won Best Rap Album at the Grammy Awards.
So, how will this next one be better?
Cardi B says the new album has a great sound. It also has strong features — not too many, but with artists fans know and love. She teased that some of the features will surprise people. “Some of these artists I’ve worked with before, and some I haven’t. But it’s going to be a vibe,” she added.
Cardi also said, “I’m 100 percent confident with this album. I just don’t think what I got is out there.” That means she feels the songs are different and fresh.
The delay in releasing the album came when Cardi found out she was pregnant with her third child. But since giving birth in September, she’s been back in the studio and working hard. She recently hinted that the album is now expected to come out in 2025.
There’s also buzz about the album’s name. TMZ spotted that Cardi’s company, Washpoppin Inc., applied to trademark three interesting phrases: “Defamation of Character,” “Intrusive Thoughts,” and “Am I The Drama?” These names could be used for albums, songs, or even music videos.
Some fans believe that these names give clues about the album’s themes — possibly touching on real-life issues, fame, and how Cardi views herself in the spotlight. As we wait for the full release, one thing’s for sure: Cardi B is ready to show the world she’s not just a one-album wonder. With strong confidence, exciting features, and possible bold themes, her second album might really beat Invasion of Privacy.
