Kid Cudi has shown he’s not only a music icon but also a fashion and art collector. The rapper recently sold more than 75 personal items in a special online auction. The event raised an impressive $857,439.
The auction was hosted by Joopiter, a digital auction house owned by music producer Pharrell Williams. The collection, called On Another Planet: The Collection of Kid Cudi, included jewelry, rare sneakers, vintage T-shirts, and even artwork.
The top-selling item was a stunning 14-karat gold N.E.R.D. pendant made by Jacob & Co. This one-of-a-kind piece was originally created for Pharrell back in 2005. Kid Cudi had bought it in a previous auction but decided to part with it. The piece sold for $243,750 — more than double the expected price.
Another standout item was a chain created by Ben Baller, Takashi Murakami, and Kid Cudi himself. Although it sold for slightly less than expected, the final bid of $187,500 still shows how valuable the piece is to collectors.
Sneaker fans also had their moment. A rare pair of Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 Low sneakers, designed by the late Virgil Abloh, went for a jaw-dropping $82,500. These shoes are part of a limited-edition collaboration and are hard to find anywhere else.
Kid Cudi also sold a custom Ben Baller chain that shows his face in 18-karat gold, with diamonds, rubies, and sapphires. That piece went for $43,750.
Collectors and fans were especially drawn to his stash of vintage music T-shirts. Some of the most eye-catching shirts came from legendary artists like Michael Jackson, Eminem, and Nirvana. These kinds of shirts are very rare, and Cudi said he had to think carefully before letting go of his Michael Jackson piece.
In an interview with GQ, Kid Cudi explained why he held the auction. “Joopiter has been wanting to do something with me for a while,” he said. “I had some stuff I was willing to part with — things I’ve collected throughout my career.”
About his vintage MJ shirt, he added: “If you’re a collector, you’re bound to have more than one. It’s just really rare when you find them.”
This auction shows how much value fans and collectors place on Cudi’s influence — not just in music, but in culture and fashion. From one-of-a-kind chains to classic T-shirts, each item told part of his story.
