Eminem Drops Bombshell Message for Stafford Before: Detroit Lions VS LA Rams Game

Eminem, a devoted Detroit Lions enthusiast, has a special message for Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford: “You have a debt to settle with me.” In a promotional snippet on X (formerly Twitter) leading up to the Lions’ playoff clash with the Rams on Sunday (Jan. 14), the legendary rapper delivered a heartfelt plea to the former Lions QB.

“Stafford, remember what I said? You owe me this one, bro,” Em expressed in a video during Saturday’s Chiefs-Dolphins game. “I stood by you when you clinched it. I was right there. I even laid down some verses for you, Stafford. Bro, I rapped for you!”

Sporting a No. 20 custom Barry Sanders hoodie in the clip, the “Lose Yourself” rapper harked back to his 2022 Super Bowl halftime performance at SoFi Stadium near L.A., where the Rams secured a victory against the Cincinnati Bengals. The unforgettable show also featured a star-studded hip-hop lineup, including Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent.

Stafford, who spent 12 years with the Lions before being traded to the Rams in 2021, faced three playoff defeats in the first round during his tenure with the Lions. The QB was traded to the Rams in exchange for the Lions’ current quarterback, Jared Goff.

The Lions, who haven’t clinched a playoff victory since 1992, are set to take on the Rams at Detroit’s Ford Field on Sunday (Jan. 14). This highly anticipated match-up marks the Lions’ first home playoff game in 30 years and the NFL team’s inaugural one at Ford Field.
