On Thursday, iHeartMedia announced a significant $981.66 million net loss for Q2 2024, accompanied by more programming-related layoffs that are causing ripples throughout the industry. The news, which spread quickly during the ongoing Morning Show Bootcamp, revealed that layoffs will commence as early as Monday.

In Salt Lake City, Jeff McCartney is no longer serving as SVP of Programming after nearly 30 years with the company. In Cleveland, Carletta Blake, Program Director at 99.5 WGAR, and Jimmy Malone of News/Talk 1100 WTAM have been let go. Malone expressed his disappointment on X, stating, “I’ll have more to say later, but after decades of loyalty to my company, they fired me after my show today and didn’t give me a chance to say goodbye to my listeners. I’m grateful for all of the support I’ve received for so long.”
Phoenix has seen similar cuts, with Rameen Madani departing as Program Director for Mix 96.9 (KMXP) and 104.7 Kiss-FM (KZZP), and morning host Joey Bradfisch also being let go.
Dave Ashcraft, Regional SVP of Programming based in Fayetteville, AR, who managed operations in Jonesboro and Tyler, TX, has been dismissed. In nearby Tulsa, Karla Cantrell, Program Director and afternoon host at 106.1 The Twister (KTGX), has also been removed from her role.
Additionally, Paul Fletcher, Assistant Program Director and Music Director for Minneapolis’ Cities 97.1 (KTCZ), is among those affected after over a decade with the station.
