Beyoncé has officially joined the ranks of celebrities venturing into the alcohol industry with the launch of her own whisky brand, SirDavis. Partnering with Moët Hennessy, the 32-time Grammy winner has crafted a unique whisky flavor that pays homage to her great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, a successful Prohibition-era moonshiner. Unveiled on August 19, SirDavis whisky is described as a “harmony of spice with sublime hints of fruit” and is currently available for pre-order at $89. It will hit select stores in major cities and airports worldwide starting in September.
Beyoncé’s journey to creating SirDavis was deeply personal. During the development process, she collaborated closely with Hennessy and renowned distiller Dr. Bill Lumsden to perfect the whisky’s flavor profile. Through this collaboration, she uncovered her great-grandfather’s legacy as a moonshiner who hid whisky bottles on his farm for friends and family. The result of this collaboration is a whisky that Beyoncé and Lumsden believe will astonish whisky enthusiasts with its distinct and refined taste.
To celebrate the launch, Beyoncé shared a photo on Instagram, elegantly holding a glass of SirDavis, along with a picture of the whisky’s stylish bottle featuring a horse-silhouette decal, a nod to her Renaissance and Cowboy Carter album covers. Following in the footsteps of other artists like Cardi B and Ciara, who have successfully launched their own alcohol brands, Beyoncé’s SirDavis whisky is poised to make a significant impact in the spirits industry.
