Father John Misty, real name Josh Tillman, has unveiled his highly anticipated sixth studio album Mahashmashana, set for release on November 22 via Sub Pop and Bella Union. The announcement comes alongside the reveal of a 2025 UK and Europe tour, where he will perform in cities like Edinburgh, Manchester, and London. Tickets for the tour, which wraps up at the iconic Royal Albert Hall, will go on sale on September 27.
In addition to the tour, Misty has also released a new track titled “Screamland,” featuring Alan Spearhawk of Low on guitar. Produced by Misty and Drew Erickson, with executive production from Jonathan Wilson, the album promises to explore new musical landscapes. The release of Mahashmashana follows his recent compilation Greatish Hits: I Followed My Dreams and My Dreams Said to Crawl, which includes his popular track “Real Love Baby.”
Father John Misty’s 2022 album Chloë and The Next 20th Century was a commercial success, charting at No. 2 in the UK and No. 28 on Billboard 200. Currently, Misty is on tour in the US, supporting country star Kacey Musgraves and recently appeared as a special guest for Lana Del Rey at her London Hyde Park show.
