Ariana Grande recently opened up about the challenges of her relationship with her fans during a Vanity Fair lie detector test with her Wicked co-star, Cynthia Erivo. While expressing her deep love for her fanbase, Grande admitted that their behavior can sometimes hurt her feelings. The pop star described the dynamic as “weirdly parasocial,” but emphasized that it feels very real to her, even confessing to having long-standing friendships with fans and frequently DM’ing them just to chat.
In addition to discussing her fanbase, Grande addressed rumors about plastic surgery that have followed her for years. During the test, she confirmed she hasn’t had any major procedures like a nose job or face lift, as the lie detector verified her honesty. Grande did, however, acknowledge that she had used fillers and Botox in the past but stopped several years ago. She remains supportive of anyone who chooses to undergo cosmetic procedures, stating, “Whatever makes people feel beautiful should be allowed.”
Grande also humorously reflected on her fanbase’s self-given name, “Arianators,” admitting that while she’s accepted it, she wouldn’t have chosen it herself. Through the interview, Grande continued to show her candid side, balancing her love for her fans while navigating the pressures that come with fame.
