Cardi B has canceled her scheduled performance at ONE MusicFest in Atlanta after being hospitalized due to a medical emergency. The rap star shared the heartbreaking news on October 23, 2024, via social media but did not reveal the specifics of her health condition.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Cardi expressed her deep disappointment, stating, “I am so sad to share this news but I’ve been in the hospital recovering from a medical emergency the last couple of days and I won’t be able to perform at ONE MusicFest. It breaks my heart that I won’t get to see my fans this weekend and I really wish I could be there. Thank you for understanding, and I’ll be back better and stronger soon.”
Cardi B was set to headline the popular festival, taking place on October 26 and 27 at Atlanta’s Central Park, where performances from other major artists like Gunna, Sexyy Red, GloRilla, Nelly, and Victoria Monét are still expected.
The Bronx native has faced several health challenges recently, notably while pregnant with her third child. In August, she shared with fans via X Spaces that she had suffered a “freak accident” while descending stairs, leading to a serious injury. Cardi explained that she slipped and felt a painful pop in her body, making it difficult for her to move.
She detailed the frightening incident, saying, “I couldn’t get up really, and I noticed that I couldn’t walk. I was feeling pain in the lower part of my stomach.” After seeking medical help, Cardi was diagnosed with a torn ligament in her pelvis, which was dangerously close to her baby’s head. The situation became more intense as she began having contractions every two minutes and was monitored for 24 hours.
Despite the severity of the injury and the excruciating pain that required morphine for relief, Cardi’s baby was born healthy the following month, bringing relief after the terrifying ordeal.
Fans of the “Bodak Yellow” rapper are hopeful for her full recovery and look forward to seeing her return to the stage soon.
