Tyler, The Creator recently took his promotional campaign for Chromakopia to a personal level by delivering the album himself to a lucky fan’s doorstep. On October 28, Instagram user @ry.k_ posted a video capturing the moment when they opened the door to find Tyler, standing with a Postmates bag containing a vinyl of Chromakopia and exclusive merch. The surprised fan and Tyler shared a brief conversation and a hug, making it an unforgettable experience.
“When your favorite artist pulls up to drop off the new album. Thank you @feliciathegoat + @postmates for the experience of a lifetime!” the fan captioned the post, sharing their excitement and gratitude.
Released on October 28, Tyler’s seventh studio album, Chromakopia, features collaborations with Sexyy Red, GloRilla, Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino, and ScHoolboy Q. The vinyl release includes an additional verse by Playboi Carti and a bonus track titled “Mother.”
Tyler introduced the album at a sold-out listening event held at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. Tickets to the unique event were only $5, attracting a packed crowd eager to experience Chromakopia live. Tyler performed the album in full, dressed in a striking black mask and military-inspired uniform against a backdrop of green-lit shipping containers, adding to the album’s immersive experience. The event highlighted Tyler’s commitment to creating a memorable release for his fans.
After the performance, Tyler shared insights into the album’s origins, describing it as a reflection on his life experiences, particularly memories and lessons from his youth. He told the audience, “This album originally started [with me] growing up in these areas. I was like, ‘Oh shit, no one knows anything about me from before, like, 17,’” revealing that much of the album draws from stories his mother told him as a child.
He added, “People are getting older, folks are having kids and families, and all I got is a new Ferrari. I’m gaining weight, I got a gray hair on my chest. Life is life-ing, and I just wanted to write about stuff that I think about when I’m dolo.” This personal exploration provides a rare look into Tyler’s reflections on adulthood and his evolving perspective on life.
