Tory Lanez’s former attorney, Shawn Holley, has fired back at allegations made by the rapper. Lanez claimed that Holley, his ex-lawyer, conspired with JAY-Z’s Roc Nation to land him behind bars. These accusations were voiced through Lanez’s latest album, Peterson, recorded while serving his sentence.

Bold Claims from Behind Bars

On the track “Verdict Day,” Lanez accused Holley of secretly siding with the opposition during his 2022 trial. The trial led to his conviction for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, an artist managed by Roc Nation. In his lyrics, Lanez rapped:

“Trial lawyer left me like she Kevin Liles / She was in bed with my opposition like wedding vows.”

He further accused her of pushing him to accept plea deals despite his innocence, adding:

“The DA’s first offer was nine years / The second, it was six at eight-five, about five years / My lawyer keep on pressing me to take it, I’m like, ‘Nah’.”

Attorney Shawn Holley Responds

In a statement to XXL, Holley denied the claims and expressed frustration over the accusations. She clarified that the State Bar has twice investigated and dismissed the allegations as baseless. Holley stated:

“Mr. Peterson’s claims have been investigated thoroughly by the State Bar and proven — on two separate occasions — to be meritless.”

Holley also revealed that Lanez requested her resignation when she refused to follow his defense strategy. She emphasized that she had no ties to Roc Nation and remained loyal to Lanez throughout the trial.
