The 2026 Grammy nominations are here, and Kendrick Lamar is leading the pack once again. Following the huge success of his album GNX and its hit singles, King Kendrick is up for nine awards. This is the most nominations for any artist this year.
The Compton superstar scored nominations in all “Big Three” categories. These are Album of the Year (GNX), Song of the Year (“Luther”), and Record of the Year (“Luther”). This comes after he won Song and Record of the Year at this year’s awards for his Drake diss, “Not Like Us.”
Kendrick is also a top contender in all four hip-hop categories. He is nominated for Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Melodic Rap Performance. He even earned a pop nomination for “30 For 30,” his collaboration with SZA.
Kendrick faces strong competition for the rap awards. Nominees include Clipse, Tyler, The Creator, JID, GloRilla, Cardi B, and Doechii. Kendrick’s rival, Drake, received only one nomination in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category.
Kendrick’s complete dominance of the rap categories, combined with his crossover success, cements his status as a leading voice in music. His ability to blend critical acclaim with chart-topping hits is rare. This level of respect from all corners of hip-hop is clear. It’s something we explored in our article about a potential Nas and Kendrick Lamar collaboration.
The 2026 Grammys will take place on February 1, 2026. The show will be held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. You can see the full list of major nominations below. For a complete list, visit the official Grammys website.

I stumbled across this post completely by accident while searching for something else entirely, and I’m so glad I did! This is exactly the kind of content I’ve been looking for. Your explanations are crystal clear, and I appreciate that you didn’t assume too much prior knowledge from your readers. The step-by-step approach you used made everything feel achievable rather than intimidating. I’m sharing this with my team because I know they’ll get just as much value from it as I did.
