Cher believes her boyfriend is strong enough. The iconic singer gave her stamp of approval to Alexander “A.E.” Edwards’ altercation with Travis Scott in Cannes, following the emergence of footage last week.

Over the weekend, the “Believe” artist took to X, more than a week after the Cannes afterparty scuffle involving A.E., Scott, and producer Southside, among other team members.

Cher expressed her pride in Edwards, with whom she has been romantically linked since late 2022 after meeting at Paris Fashion Week. She clarified that while he didn’t start the brawl, he was the one to finish it.

“I’m proud of Alexander,” she shared on X Saturday (June 1). “He didn’t start the fight against two men… he finished it. Gotta love him.”

Fans responded to Cher’s post, showing support for A.E. and relief that everything was alright following the incident.

“Bless him. Isn’t it awful all the rubbish that gets published? Sad that you’ve had to comment on this. Hope AE is okay and you are too xxxx,” one person responded to the 78-year-old.

The altercation occurred on May 23 at Richie Akiva’s Cannes Film Festival afterparty, behind the DJ booth when Scott and A.E. began to argue. The cause of the disagreement remains unclear.

Sources close to the situation told Billboard that Scott returned with producer Southside, leading to a brief physical tussle with punches exchanged before security diffused the fight.
