Lady Gaga Shuts Down Pregnancy Rumors Using a Taylor Swift Lyric
Lady Gaga wasted no time addressing recent pregnancy rumors, using TikTok to post a playful response featuring a Taylor Swift lyric.
“Not pregnant—just down bad cryin’ at the gym,” she wrote in her latest TikTok, referencing Swift’s song “Down Bad” from The Tortured Poets Department, which recently peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The full lyric reads, “Now I’m down bad crying at the gym/ Everything comes out teenage petulance.”

In addition to denying the pregnancy rumors, Gaga took the opportunity to encourage her Little Monsters to register to vote.
The TikTok video features Gaga with dramatic black eyeliner, lip-syncing to a voice-over saying: “I don’t have to find an aesthetic. I am an aesthetic. I mean I’m sure there’s somebody out here right now who’s going into Pinterest trying to type up all these adjectives to describe me.” The audio was originally posted by a TikTok user.

The pregnancy speculation arose over the weekend after fans thought they saw a baby bump in photos of Gaga attending her sister’s wedding with her partner Michael Polansky.
Recently, the Gaga Chromatica Ball concert film premiered on HBO and Max, hinting at her next musical era with a message reading “LG7 GAGA RETURNS” at the end. Additionally, Gaga will be starring as Harley Quinn in the upcoming Joker: Folie à Deux musical sequel alongside Joaquin Phoenix, set to hit theaters on October 4.
